Description:
Physical Education/ Health is a one year class with one semester in physical activities that will allow students hands-on opportunities in selecting activities they may wish to continue in their own exercise program as an adult; help a student to develop as a total individual (physically, mentally socially, and emotionally), who is better able to meet the ever changing society.

It will help a child gain knowledge of how the body operates and what it is capable of doing through a program which stresses problem-solving activities and good cooperation, sportsmanship, and leadership, help students to solve their problems in a socially acceptable manner, help students fulfill their capacities for physical and accept personal limitations' allow student to project themselves into group environments as responsible, contributing member, and develop interest and skill which lead to participation in leisure and lifetime activities.

This semester course, usually taken in 9th grade. This class fills the state requirement for graduation.

Description:
Health education is a planned program that addresses the physical, mental, emotional, and social dimensions of health.

This program is designed to motivate and assist students to maintain and improve their health, prevent disease, and reduce health-related risk behaviors.  It will also help students develop and demonstrate increasingly sophisticated health-related knowledge, attitudes, skills and practices.

Health education includes a variety of topics including mental and emotional health; growth and prevention and safety; and consumer, community, and environmental health.

Course: Lifetime Sports

Description:
This is a course of sports and recreational activities that one can perform throughout their lifetime.

The purpose of lifetime sports is to provide students with the knowledge, and at least beginner’s skill level, to be able to participate in sports and recreational activities throughout their lives.

Course: Body Conditioning
Grade: 10-12
Prerequisites: None

Description:

This course is designed for the student who wishes to improve their body beyond the normal classroom setting of P.E.

Students will be pre and post tested for speed, strength, and endurance. Students enrolled in this will be a year round monitored program to improve total strength.

Students wishing to consider enrollment should remember this will be a high-intensity training designed to build and gain strength.

Student should see a varsity coach before enrolling in this course. Enrollment will be limited and students must have permission from coaching staff.
